Wick, 5th Jan. The CROWN (brig), of Stromness, (with oak), went on shore during the late gales at Dunvegan, Isle of Skye. She is reported not to be much damaged, and it is supposed would be got off.

The map sheet assigned to this record is essentially arbitrary. The stranding may have occurred on map sheets NG15NW, NG15SW or NG25NW.
The loss of this vessel is not cited by I G Whittaker (1998), presumably suggesting her successful recovery.
