Dunnet by Thurso, 1st July. The SCARRISH (schr.), of Aberdeen, Mackenzie, from Newcastle to Dublin, with coals, got on shore on the Ness of Duncans Bay [Duncansby], Pentland Firth during a dense fog this morning and is lying in a very dangerous position, full of water: crew and materials saved.

Wick, 30th June. A fishing vessel arrived here from Stornoway, reports having passed this morning two large barques on shore at Dunnet head, near the Light-house: and an Aberdeen schooner on shore on Duncansby head: the schooner, coal laden, was being dismantled. Thick fog in Pentland Firth since yesterday.

Pentland Firth, 2nd July. The spars, sails, anchors, and chains of the SCARRISH OF TYREE, of Aberdeen (not SCARRISH, as before reported), Mackenzie, Newcastle to Dublin, which got ashore 1st July, have been landed at Duncansby Ness. The vessel has her bottom out, and will probably bot to [Record received incomplete].
