Nothing can now be seen of an earlier farmstead at Braes of Muckrach. The current farmsteading now comprises one L-shaped range incorporated into modern cattle sheds, a detached range to the S, and a cottage standing to the E. The single story, three bay, cottage has evidently been extended to the E and the dormers indicate attic bedrooms. The S wing of the L-shaped range represents two periods of construction.
