Full Description

NMRS Report: (21/03/2007 11:49:04)
NH92NE 52 NH 98448 25104

The grass-grown footings of a rectangular building are situated at the top of the scarp forming the N side of the gully below Braes of Muckrach, some 50m E of the farmhouse. The building, measuring 13.5m from NW to SE by 4.9m transversely, is set end on to the edge of the gully, and comprises two compartments, the NW one on level ground, and the SE one descending down the slope. The latter has traces of a possible kiln-bowl set into the partition. Adjacent to the kiln, the footings are up to 0.5m high, but elsewhere they have been reduced to little more than 0.2m, and the W corner is merely marked by a single boulder.
Visited by RCAHMS (SH, JH) 12 October 2006.
