Thurso, 25th Dec. The DUNROBIN, of Wick, Murray, had her stern stove, and bow-sprit, sails, &c., carried away here in the hurricane of the 19th, by the BETSY DAVIDSON, of Wick, which carried away her moorings: the DUNROBIN afterwards broke from her moorings, and drove up on the East side of the river. [Record received incomplete].

(Location of loss cited as N58 36.5 W3 30.0).
I G Whittaker 1998.
A location at ND c. 122 688 may be suggested for this stranding. The River Thurso (Thurso River) enters the SE corner of Thurso Bay through a well-defined mouth.
The location of loss cited by Whittaker remains unverified.
