This farmstead comprises ten roofed buildings and two unroofed structures on the second edition 6-inch map (Ross and Cromarty, sheet 65, 1905). One of the first modern style sheep houses was built at Millcraig Farmstead in 1900 and measured 33m by 18m with a single span corrugated iron roof. The lower walls were built of concrete and the upper part of timber, fitted with pivoted ventilated doors (MacDonaldJ 1908-9 Stephens Book of the Farm , 398-99). On the current 1:10000 OS map eight roofed and five unroofed buildings are depicted.
