(Classified as steel steamship, with cargo of coal: date of loss cited as 25 January 1906). Avenel: this vessel stranded on the West side of Thurso breakwater. Capt. Hamilton.
Registration: Glasgow. Built 1900. 271grt.
(Location of loss cited as N58 36.0 W3 30.0).

A location at ND c. 120 688 may be tentatively suggested for this stranding. This falls within the E end of Thurso Sands, and to the W of the breakwater at the entrance to Thurso Harbour (ND16NW 57).
