Full Description

NMRS Report: (25/06/2007 13:52:18)
NG53NE 217 5713 3612

NG 5713 3612 Hut Circle (Possible). The remains show as a sub-circular structure with pronounced stone and turf banks. It is 10m in diameter internally with walls having a spread of over a metre and between 0.60m and 1.40m high. In the western sector a 3m setting of stones is all but lost in the grass. It is suggested that this is the remains of a hut circle which has been re-used for the working of sheep.
Site identified during an archaeological survey on Raasay by the ACFA.
Anne Wood and Scott Wood, 2004.
