In the valley of the Lon na Saorugh, between 700 and 950 feet OD, is a large concentration of about 50 shielings. Disposed in six groups, they lie upon the north-facing slopes of the valley down to the banks of the stream. These are from one-to three-cell types constructed of earth and stone, for the most part collapsed. They are seen as turf-covered mounds often with depressions in the top.
Visited by OS (A S P) 30 April 1961.
