Full Description

NMRS Report: (14/11/2007 16:39:52)
NH05NW 6 02058 59862

This hut circle, discovered by a contractor working on an on-going woodland restoration scheme in Glen Torridon, measures about 5m in diameter within a wall about 1.5m in thickness. The site had been planted with commercial tree species in the 1960's and some of the stumps protrude from the walls, which are covered in a thick layer of moss. The area surrounding the hut circle has been marked by canes and there will be no tree planting within 10 meters of the site; efforts will also be made to ensure the site is kept free of regenerating trees. Located by hand-held GPS.
