Full Description

This building is depicted as a sheep fold on the 1st edition 25 inch Ordnance Survey map of 1872, although it clearly originated as a dwelling house. Photographs of the building and surrounding features were submitted as a requirement of planning permission for the construction of a new house and studio. The former crofthouse had a central door and a flue at each gable end. It has been extended to the front and back with roughly-built brick and timber structures related to its current use as a sheep fank. The application plans suggest that the original portion of the building is to be retained. <1><2>
