Full Description

On a bedrock outcrop within a carpark off the A86, is a carved march marker, part of a series of similar markers in the area. The remains of a former fenceline and drystone wall can be seen running from the marker. The inscription is very clear, set about 1m off the ground on an almost vertical face. It is thought that the stone may relate to a march between Gordon and Macpherson. <1>

The inscription on the stone is a clear inverted 'G' to the east and half of an 'M' to the west. Report gives background to boundary marking in this area. <2>

Noted. <3>
