Full Description

What appears to be a large unfinished millstone abandoned by the side of the path from Poolewe to Slattadale. <1>

The stone is roughly circular with a diameter of over 1m and a central hole showing evidence of multiple drilling. A large split laminated rock nearby looks like a possible source. A series of boundary markers is depicted on the first edition OS map and this stone may have served a similar role. <2>
