Full Description

One of two bridges "over a burn on the Tarnate new road" was probably located here. It was designed by Samuel Barham and consisted of "girders and plates" of "old cast metal". The bridge has since been washed away and the stream is now channelled through a galvanised steel pipe, topped with hard core and wooden planks. The site was visited in 2008 during a walkover survey prior to proposed hydro works. <1>
