Full Description
Semi-buried reinforced concrete shelter c.30 ft long with a brick shielded entrance in the W gable. Constructed of pre-cast concrete units which rest on a cast concrete floor slab. The entrance is shielded by a brickwork approach at right-angles to the doorway with a precast concrete roof slab <1>.
The air raid shelter has recently been dismantled with the curved sections of precast concrete which would have formed the main body of the shleter left on site. The brickwork entrance building is currently still standing. The reasons for dismantling this structure are unknown, but the nissen hut to the west has also recently been demolished <2>.
