Full Description

Information about this site was submitted to the HER by a local researcher, Paul Swan, in October 2008. The famous Highland minister, Lachlan Mackenzie (1754-1819) had this well dug and called it Tobar Suthainn (The Everlasting Well) because the well would run as long as the world lasted. It is now capped off and lies partly under the path but its feeder spring still flows into it all the year round. <1>

See MHG31392 for further information about the Rev. Lachlan Mackenzie. <2>
