Full Description

This site was visited during a walkover survey in April 2000. The farm is noted on Roy's Military map (1747-55) as comprising four roofed structures, surrounded with cultivated land. Five roofed structurse are depicted on the 1st edition 6 inch Ordnance Survey map, as well as a roofless structure and three enclosures.
During the walkover survey three structures were noted. The main house is in excellent condition, one and a half storey, slate roof with two dormer windows, double gable wall chimney stacks. The building is harled and painted white and there is an attached enclosure on the eastern side. Attached to the house on the western end is a dry stone walled structure and it is unclear if it is roofed. The barn/store to the north of the house has a corrugated roof and has been harled and white washed. <1>
