Full Description

Mullans Wood is bounded to the west and south by a stone and earth dyke of early 19th-century type, stone faced on the outer side and banked on the inner. Mature beech trees are growing on the dyke. This is evidence that the wood was first planted during the initial enclosure of the commonty in 1819. <1>
