Full Description

A walkover survey in October 2007 identified the remains of a farmstead at the top of the raised beach at Ormiscaig. The remains comprise a substantial building ruin of mortared rubble, a smaller square rubble structure and turf enclosing dykes, corresponding to roofed structures recorded on the 1st edition OS map. This is on land recorded as being brought into cultivation during the 1847 croft reorganisations and was probably built between 1847 and 1875. <1>
