Full Description

This bunker was built in 1941 as the operations room for 14 Group RAF Fighter Command headquarters, which were being moved from temporary accommodation at the Drumossie Hotel. The operations room ceased to function in 1946 after which it was taken over by the Royal Observer Corps. The bunker was refurbished in the early 1990s, but the site was subsequently sold to a developer and the bunker was demolished in 2002. The only exception was the former filter room, which is now used by Highland Council as an emergency planning centre. <1><2>
