Full Description

NG52SE 8 588 203.

An urn, containing ashes and bones partially burnt, and a very thin cooper coin, were found when digging the foundations of the minister's house in Strath.
NSA 1845.

It is known that the minister's house was built c 1825 (See NG52SE 10) and Mr Alexander Stoddart of Kilbride informed me that his house, Kilbride, at NG 588 203, was the minister's house until about 1910. The property has been in Mr Stoddart's hands since 1924 but he has no knowledge of the urn or its whereabouts.
Visited by OS (C F W) 20 June 1961.
