The location assigned to this record remains unverified. It lies about 9km SSW of the W end of Canna, and 15km NE of Hyskier (Oigh-Sgeir) lighthouse (NM19NE 1). Hyskeir (Oigh-Sgeir) lighthouse is at NM 1552 9626.
It remains unclear whether Whittaker is referring to a net snag or a sonar contact.
