Full Description
The cut of a pit or possible posthole was identified during a watching brief in March 2009. The feature measured approximately 70cm by 70cm, with a midbrown sandy soil fill. The feature was half-sectioned, showing that it narrowed at the bottom, but produced only a small amount of charcoal fragments and no finds. A deposit of charcoal and ash was also identified during the watching brief which was probably redeposited from another feature. In the context of the recorded archaeology in the area, these findings reinforce the archaeological potential of the area. <1>
