Full Description
On the 2nd edition OS map only a rectangular enclosed area of cultivation is recorded in the angle between the two tracks. This is not now visible, but there are a number of field clearance piles in the area. The largest, measuring 10m by 2m lies just SW of the track, and is aligned WNW-ESE. Some stones appear to have been placed to define the oval before other stones were piled inside. 10m ESE of this is one small circular stone pile lies under the power line west of South Corry house.
It was felt that the proposed route of the overhead power line should pass well to the west of these features, so they should be unaffected. Stones should not be removed from the piles to provide packing material for the poles. <1>
The cultivated area is depicted on both the 1st and 2nd edition Ordnance Survey maps. The site plan shows the area of field clearance piles to the west of this. <2>-<4>
