Full Description

A low area adjacent to the stream, immediately below the waterfalls contains a section of low rubble walling (Photo 23-26). This forms a small enclosure bordering the stream. The walling is single-skin drystone to a height of 0.8m and four courses and follows a sinuous line (photo 24). This suggests that the walling may be incorporating earlier structures, for example shieling huts. Although close to the main settlement of Boor, this would be a good shieling site. The walling may therefore date to the period of the sheep farm. <1>
