Full Description

Barrel-shaped shieling, with a 3m long, non-interconnecting compartment at its S end, with grass and moss-covered, thick, linear mounded walls, standing 0.8m high and spread to 1m wide. Reeds are growing within its sunken interior and it measures 10m x 3m. It has a 0.5m wide entrance to the main NE compartment, centrally placed in its SE side. The longsides of the structure trend 21 degrees. This site is one of a group of shieling huts identified during a walkover survey in April 2009. <1>
