Full Description

Four small cairns over an area 30 m NNE/SSW x 8 m:

a) c 15 m N of (b) is a large jumble of stones in a sand blow [NC 3714 6718]. Measures 5.1 m NE/SW by 2 m. Difficult to tell whether this is a cairn or a collapsed structure. Stone mostly comprises basal quarzite.

b) 2 m NNE [NC 3714 6718] of (c) is another sub rectangular cairn on same alignment as C measuring 3 m x 1.4 m and constructed mostly of gneiss. No obvious kerb.

c) Subrectangular cairn measuring 3.3 m ESE/WNW x 2.1 m [NC 3714 6716] formed of large gneiss subangular blocks. Possible kerb defines it.

d) 3 m NW [NC 3714 6716] of (c) is a small, low circular cairn.
Just below 31 m contour on ridge overlooking Kyle of Durness and headland.
Clearance or burial cairns.
Recommendations: Monitor. <1><2>
