Full Description

Banks and cairns over an area 80 m N/S x 60 m.

a) Turf-covered stony linear bank aligned NNE/SSW at N end of field. 23.3 m long but broken 6.7 and 11.7 m from the SSW end. The bank is 0.2-0.3 m high and spreads up to 1.6 m wide. NC 3769 6695 (centred)

b) 36 m SSE of the NNE end of (a) is a clearance cairn (partially turfed), 4.5 m x 3.7 m. There is another small clearance cairn 7 m W of this. NC 3773 6694

c) 12 m ESE from the SSW end of (a) is another clearance cairn, 6.1 m x 4 m. NC 3771 6694

d) 18 m SSW of (c) is another circular clearance cairn, 3.5 m in diameter. NC 3771 6692

e) 30 m WSW of the SSW end of (a) is a long clearance cairn or turf and stone bank, 6 m
N/S x 4 m. NC 3766 6693

f) 14 m SE of S end of (e) is a low turf-covered stone bank, 10.7 m NE/SW x 2 m. NC 3768 6692

g) 39 m SE of the SW end of (f) is another clearance cairn, 5.5 m x 2 m. This is probably the highest feature of the group at 0.9 m high. NC 3770 6689

h) 6 m SW of (g) is another clearance cairn, 3.1 x 2.3 m. NC 3770 6688

i) 12 m SW of (h) is a kidney-bean shaped clearance cairn, 5.6 m x 3.3 m and 0.6 m high. NC 3769 6687
On grassy plateau between 30m contour and 40m rise to NE. Ground rises around this plateau at the N and E, slopes away from it at S and W. Views S to Kyle of Durness and SW to Cape Wrath.
Prehistoric field system, possibly of same phase as sites 50, 52, 53.
