Full Description
"Near the Post Office at Broadford is Goir a' Bhlair, 'the field of battle', were one of the most decisive Norse Battles was fought."

Goir a' Bhlair is a large tract of peat-moss extending from the vicinity of Broadford Post Office (NG 639236) to the foot of Beinn na Caillich (NG 612230); the battle referred to was a Clan battle involving the Mackinnons (Information from Captain Campbell, Broadford).
(It is perhaps not without significance that the remains of two chambered cairns fall within the area - NG62SW 2)
