Full Description
a) Linear stony feature formed of basal quartzite subangular blocks, 2.1 m E/W by 0.8 m wide. At NC
3826 6771.
b) 2.4 m E of (a) is a very similar line of walling running N/S for 2.4 m. May form a right angle with (a). At
NC 3827 6771.
c) c 15 m NNE of (b) is another line of walling, 3.3 m WNW/ESE. Similar to (a) and (b) but with more turf cover. Stones are flush with turf. At NC 3827 6772.
There is a great quantity of basal quartzite along this gully, though no structural sense can be made of it. They could be the remnants of collapsed cairns (very eroded area). Overall extent is 35 m N/S x 20 m.
Within deep eroded gully up to 1.5 m below present ground surface. Some colonisation by turf at base of gully.
Field boundaries possibly related to other prehistoric field boundaries in this area (cf eg sites 98-100, 102).
Recommendations: Monitor and survey. <1><2>
