Full Description
Linear stony feature, comprising a tumbled line of quartzite subangular blocks and rubble c 95 m long N/S and up to 2 m wide. At the S end a small 'D-shaped' structure abuts the wall on the W, 4.3 m N/S x 3.6 m externally, with wall two stones wide (with gap between stones) or one large boulder wide (c0.6 m). The wall twists and weaves along the contour and limestone crags and is difficult to distinguish in places from the general glacial debris around it, from which the wall is built. At N end it turns to W for 4.2 m.
In sloping , W-facing valley between limestone outcrops and dunes to N and S, under thin heather and grass cover. Overlooks mouth of Kyle of Durness.
Field boundary or wall for stock control, with possible shieling structure attached.
