Full Description

a) Sinuous, D-shaped dyke running NW/SE for approximately 70 m across the W and SW side of limestone crags. The dyke skirts below excavated cairn 71a, which abuts it, so dyke appears to be later. Dyke is max 1-2 courses high and composed of variety of sizes and shapes of stone, and is 0.5 - 1 m wide. Some of it incorporates bedrock and its NW end abuts an outcrop ridge . and the line joins an outcrop ridge at the NW end. Continues for c 20 m to E of cairns and may run into forestry plantation, although stones are rather intermitten here and quantity of dead wood and tree stumps makes it difficult to trace. SE end NC 3794 6756, NW end NC 3790 6762

b) At NC 3793 6757 is an arcing length of wall that appears to abut (a). Two orthostats at the SW side may suggest the original face of the wall, which would therefore have been 1.3 m wide. No obvious entrance or internal features.
On grass slope at base of limestone crags, overlooking central plain.
Fieldwall/boundary. Could well be connected to the many ephemeral elements recorded on flat ground below as site 67. May also relate to burial cairns (site 71), although surface indications suggest these walls are later.
Recommendations: None. <1><2>
