Unlocated.
An LBA,bag-type, socketed, broze axe, 3 5/8" long x 2 3/4" across the cutting edge, found in Strath parish, was donated to the NMAS by Thomas MacKenzie, Applecross, in 1885.
Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1885; 1962.
(Newton variant of Dowris type). Single find. Socketed axe, green, porous surface, deep longitudinal scratches, trimmed, haft ribs on upper socket faces; length 91mm, mouth 29x37mm, cutting edge 71mm, weight 325 gms. NMAS DE 2.
