Full Description

An area of peat cutting was identified from examination of aerial photographs from 1946 as part of a desk-based assessment in 2008. No remains were identified during the walkover survey. The New Statistical Account (Ref. 10-20) reports that peat or turf was the almost universally exploited source of fuel in the parish, being easily procured from the abundant peat bogs. <1>
