Full Description

Paul Swan, a local researcher, has reported a circular feature which he spotted on Google Earth aerial photography. The feature has not been observed on the ground previously. The ground appears to have been improved in the past and is now very wet and under sedge. <1>

Subsequent checking of Get Mapping vertical aerial photographs supplied by ESRI confirmed the presence of the feature, which is approximately 26m in diameter and has an apparent entrance on the eastern side. There is a faint suggestion of an external bank. <2> The feature also appears on a 1946 RAF vertical aerial photograph where it is less clear whether or not there is an entrance. <3>

The site was visited again by Mr Swan and photographed. As suspected there is nothing visible on the surface. <4>
