Full Description

A walkover survey in April 2010 identified a boundary dyke which is recorded on the 1st edition Ordnance Survey map of the area. It most likely formed the original boundary between Torridon and Lochcarron and probably dates from the mid 19th century. The SE end of the dyke line is stony and appears to be the footings of a double skin drystone wall, but NW of this it becomes a turf and rubble bank and then a low and indistinct bank, sometimes with a ditch on the upper side. Upon reaching the loch it extends into the water by approximately 4 metres. <1>
