Full Description

Site marked on 1st edition OS of 1879 (Sheet 103) and named Coir-ach-a-bhraoil, depicted as 3 roofed rectangular buildings one to the S with an enclosure and a well. Marked on 2nd edition OS of 1907 as Corryachvrail with 3 roofed buildings, one of 2 compartments. Two of the buildings have adjoining enclosures, with probable farmhouse to its N side, well marked. On both editions is marked a head-dyke. <1><2>

Farm locally known as Corry, with last occupier being a John Mackay in the 1920s and named as Corry in a survey of the Sutherland Estate dated 1811 being described as a sheep cot. The farm does not appear in rentals of 1808 or 1815
for Rogart. Walkover revealed farm house of 2 compartments, with one blocked up doorway on its W wall with possible byre to the W and with a walled garden on its E side. 2nd building to S obscured by bracken. Head-dyke of turf and stone. The remnants of a square enclosure are visible to the N of the farmstead. <3>
