Full Description

(Area: NG 774150) A coin hoard in the remains of an animal horn was found at Sandaig by forestry workers in May, 1958. It comprised 24 English coins ranging from Mary Tudor to James I and a Brunswick thaler c. 1620.

The finder of the coin hoard, Mr A McDiarmid, pointed out the approximate find-spot in the area centred NG 773 149. The hoard is believed to be in the Fort William Museum.
