Full Description

Two-celled, rectangular drystone structure with squared and rounded ends, double-faced with rubble core-appears to have been rebuilt and restructured during several phases. Situated on NNW-facing slope at 40m OD on a NNW-SSE alignment. There was a byre annex on the SE end with upright slabs in the floor marking the remains of the byre drain. The main building appears to have been reskinned at least on the W and S ends and there is a wall 'buttress' of unknown use built on to the E side. Further rubble was barely visible in the deep grass/reeds S of the building and could be the remains of another building.. 5.0 x 5.5 (external N building); 5.5 x 7.0 (external S building); byre annex 2.5 x 5.5, drain 0.5 wide; 'buttress' wall 2.8 long x 0.8 wide. Site identified during walkover survey in October 2010. <1>
