Full Description

Hector Rogers has submitted information about this area:
"Achadrom is the original name of this area although little remains of the earlier settlement, but there is a possible corn kiln at c.NN2970 9735. Looking up Achadrom on the Internet there is a reference to a military camp at Achadrom which would probably explain the straight banking and right-angle at the NW corner, also the deep ditch at the W side. The military reference occurs in an extract from Martin Rackwitch’s ‘Travels to Terra Incognita:the Scottish Highlands and Hebrides in early modern travellers’ accounts 1600-1800’. A captain Teesdale is writing in 1753 from his base at Achadrom." <1>
