Full Description

This longhouse (ROG95 862) was recorded during RCAHMS's 1995 survey of Little Rogart township. It measures 16.9m x 4.6m with stone-faced rubble walls 0.7m thick standing to a height of 0.2m. The survey noted a wing on the north eastern side of the building at its southern end, measuring 2.7m by 2.5m. A byre- drain runs along the south west side of the north western end of the building. The building has been heavily robbed. The dimensions of the building are typical of long byre-houses found elsewhere in Sutherland. This is one of six similar buildings within the former township. <1><2>
