Full Description

This longhouse (ROG95 866) was recorded during RCAHMS's 1995 survey of Little Rogart township. It measures 28.4m x 4.8m with rubble walls spread to 0.6m thick at a height of 0.2m. The building has three compartments. The central compartment has a drain on the south side just west of the east compartment with a branch leading to the outside. The dimensions are typical of long byre-houses found elsewhere in Sutherland. There are six buildings of this type within the former township. <1>
