Full Description

This longhouse (ROG95 875) was recorded during RCAHMS's 1995 survey of Little Rogart township. The remains measure 20.4m x 4.4m with rubble walls spread to a width of 0.9m with a height of 0.25m. Three internal compartments were identified, the central compartment being the best preserved and containing a sump or depression. The dimensions of this building, one of six similar structures in the former township, are typical of long byre-houses elsewhere in Sutherland. <1><2>
