Full Description

Remains of possible kelp burning pit at Ardnish. In the late 1700s, the OSA records that about 100 tons of kelp were made in the parish annually. Four years earlier it was selling for £6 per ton, but in the previous three years the price had dropped to £3.10s. <1>
