A two-cell shieling hut was recorded during a walkover survey by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2012 at Coireag Mhor, Bracadale, Skye, prior to a proposed woodland creation scheme.

Full Description

A small possible shieling hut was recorded during a walkover survey by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2012 at Coireag Mhor, Bracadale, Skye, prior to a proposed woodland creation scheme. It was located on a prominent knoll under
rushes and consisted of a stone/boulder-built double cell sub-circular structure. Its dimensions were: north-east cell 5m diameter, the south-west cell 4.5m diameter over walls spread to 0.6m wide and up to 0.5m high. There was a 0.7m-wide entrance in the south wall. <1>
