Full Description
A multi-celled shieling hut group was recorded during a walkover survey by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2012 at Braon a' Mheallain, Bracadale, Skye, prior to a proposed woodland creation scheme. It was located on a west-facing spur constructed of stone and turf overlying a possible hut circle (see MHG55645). There were four individual cells, measuring 2-5m in diameter over walls 0.7m wide, 1m high, and the remains of an attached twinning pen (see MHG55664). The remains of a stone and turf enclosure was attached to the shieling group. <1>
