Full Description
A shieling hut was recorded during a walkover survey by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2012 at Creagan Breaca, Bracadale, Skye, prior to a proposed woodland creation scheme. The grass- heather- and rushes-covered double celled structure was built of stone or turf. Its dimensions: south-east cell 4m north-south by 3.8m, north-west cell 3.2m by 3.1m over walls 1m wide at base and up to 0.6m high. There was a 0.6m-wide entrance in the south wall. <1>
