Full Description
A double cell shieling hut was recorded during a walkover survey by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2012 at Creagan Breaca, Bracadale, Skye, prior to a proposed woodland creation scheme. The stone and boulder built structure had been constructed at the base of a SSE-facing outcrop and was under grass and rushes. The two cells were connected by a creep: the west cell was 2.2m across, the east cell 5.5m east-west by 4.5m over walls 1m wide and 0.5m high. The 0.6m-wide elongated entrance was 1.5m long. <1>
