A double celled shieling hut was recorded during a walkover survey by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2012 at Creagan Breaca, Bracadale, Skye, prior to a proposed woodland creation scheme.

Full Description

A double celled shieling hut was recorded during a walkover survey by West Coast Archaeological Services in 2012 at Creagan Breaca, Bracadale, Skye, prior to a proposed woodland creation scheme. The stone and boulder built structure had been constructed at the base of a SSE-facing outcrop and was under grass and rushes. The double cell structure was connected by a creep: the south-west cell measured 4.5m NW-SE by 3.5m, the north-east cell was 4.2m NE-SW by 3.2m over walls 0.7m wide and 0.6m high. The entrance in the north-east end measured 0.7m. <1>
