Full Description
A sheepfold shown on the 1st Edition OS map south of Hollandmey near Canisbay, Caithness (Caithness 1877, sheet vii).
This site was visited by SUAT in 2004 during a walkover survey in advance of a proposed windfarm development. The feature survived as a circular turf and moss covered dry stone wall 0.6m wide and 0.49m high. The internal diameter was 11.55m. The entrance was on the southeast side was 0.93m wide and was blocked with slabs of stone. It lay in mixed rough grassland and heather. <1>
